Our mission is to assist children, youth and families in the Whittier neighborhood achieve their potential and celebrate their community. Programs include INSTEP and the COOL Youth Center. INSTEP (INnovative Supports To Empower Parents)is a licensed, drop-in childcare program serving children and families. In operation since 1991, it is run by experienced professional early childhood educators and overseen by a volunteer board of directors. The mission of INSTEP is to provide low cost, consistent, quality, temporary childcare for families who have no other child care alternatives and who need the care in order to advance toward self-efficacy, family health and economic independence. COOL Youth Center provides after-school and summer programming to assist children ages 6-18 in their emotional and intellectual development.
