Description
MISSION: AAUW promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. Since 1881 the American Association of University Women has been the nation's leading voice promoting education and equity for women and girls. OUR HISTORY: The American Association of University Women founded in 1881, is open to all graduates who hold the associate or higher degree from an accredited college or university. Through our annual local college scholarships, civic contributions, volunteer activities, and alliances with other area groups, we seek to support and benefit our community. THE GALE MANSION: The Minneapolis Branch of AAUW-with nearly 500 members-owns and operates its own building, the historic Gale Mansion. All of our activities take place here as we strive to fulfill the AAUW mission of advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. In 1978 the Gale Mansion was designated on the National Register of Historic Places.Map
