The crowd here is tough, but don't let that deter you from checking this place out. You may find one or two patrons sporting the studded collars you would expect to see on an actual bulldog, so it’s probably a good idea to forgo putting gel in your hair and popping your collar before you come here, as you will stick out like a sore thumb. The real beer seekers are there to try the 20 different selections available on tap, including Newcastle, Blue Moon, and Murphy’s Stout. The knock on this place is that bar seating is scarce, but they make up for it by serving up the finest hot dogs this side of the Windy City. For those Sotans who think a hot dog is just a wiener on a bun, think again. These ain’t no Dome Dogs…not that there’s anything wrong with those. The Bulldog takes the art of the hot dog seriously, creating a variety of styles with their Bageldog, Firedog, and the official bar specialty, the Bulldog. If you would prefer to take your sustenance from a different form, they also serve sandwiches like the Meatball Sub, Philly Cheese Steak, and Turkey Avocado. Come get a beer and a dog, man’s two best friends.
