Description

Salem Lutheran is a congregation in Transformation...intentionally transforming our leadership, our community culture, and our building and space (currently housed at 31st and Aldrich with Lyndale UCC, but planning for a smaller redeveloped ministry center at our site on 28th and Lyndale). While we are Partners with Lyndale UCC sharing space, Sunday School, a youth program, and some justice ministry, we maintain our unique histories and identity, worshipping together a couple times a year, but being "two churches sharing." Our mission statement is: "We're a welcoming church committed to Christ, our community, and the diversity of our neighborhood." We worship on Sundays at 8:30am for a traditional service in the sanctuary, and at 10:30am for a jazz service in the upstairs worship space. Sunday School and Youth Group both meet between services at 9:15am. Salem is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and Minneapolis Area Synod, and is a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) congregation welcoming people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
