Description
Established in 1954, Wayside House is one of the nation’s oldest treatment centers devoted exclusively to the needs of women. Wayside House began as the vision of Sarah Mary “Sally” DeVay, a Honeywell employee who created a home for women who had “fallen by the wayside” and energized the business community, psychiatric professionals, and faith communities to help. For these first women and girlssuffering from homelessness and unemployment, Wayside House was often the only home they had ever known.
Much more than a treatment center, Wayside provides intense, personalized, caring, and long-term support to help women not only recover from addiction and mental illness, but also achieve their full potential as parents, workers, and community members.
Wayside Incarnation House is a residential parenting and recovery support program offering up to one year of 24-hour supervised housing for mothers in recovery and their
children. Group parenting and life skills classes plus one-on-one parent coaching provide support for mothers seeking reunification with their children and/or improved family stability.
